Here is one more Meghalaya based organization supporting Agriculture and Allied sectors
Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA)
MBDA Head Office, Nongrim Hills (Next to Housing Co-operatives behind Bethany Hospital)
MBDA was set up in March 2013 to improve the livelihood of the rural population of Meghalaya who depend on natural resources like water, land and bio-resources for their day to day living. It is responsible for implementing the projects under the Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Programme (IBDLP)
To help in this process, MBDA has set up three Institutes:
- Meghalaya institute of Entrepreneurship (MIE)
- Meghalaya Institute of Governance (MIG) and
- Meghalaya Institute of Natural resources (MINR)
Each institute functions in unison with the MBDA.
And MBDA follows a ‘Mission Mode’ approach. The idea is to launch independent missions for the specific sectors and organically merging them with the IBDLP. To help this process MBDA has launched nine missions:
- Apiculture Mission
- Aquaculture Mission
- Forestry & Plantation Crops Mission
- Horticulture Mission
- Livestock Mission
- Rural Energy Mission
- Sericulture Mission
- Tourism Mission and
- Water Mission.
Here are some publications of MBDA. Worth taking a look.
