You may be wondering why we are featuring NEHU as organization supporting agriculture.
- NEHU has a department of ‘Rural Development and Agricultural Production’ in its Tura Campus; and
- Under the School Environmental Studies and the School of Life Sciences research is going on in areas pertaining to Agriculture.
In fact, Zizira has had the opportunity to meet Dr. S.K. Barik, the Head of the Department of Botany and learnt about the projects and studies he had done on Lakadong Turmeric and have also met with Dr. D. Syiem, the Head of Department of Bio-Chemistry and came to know about his intense research on a special herb of Meghalaya – Potentilla Fulgens. Both of them have published a number of research papers on their areas of interest.
Zizira Blog has a post on NEHU.
